Parole, Lis e canzoni s’intrecciano in un percorso di riflessioni drammaticamente comiche sulle diversità delle diverse età delle donne. Ecco arrivato per “LEI” il momento della tanto temuta ed agognata menopausa. Fermamente intenzionata a contrastare ogni tipo di tristezza, sbalzo d’umore, insonnia e desiderosa di solcare quel mare infinito di sudarelle con un pizzico d’ironia, decide di fare una cosa che mai ha fatto nella sua vita. Far uscire la bambina che è in lei. Ed eccola lì, la “lei-bambina” ; bella, allegra, intelligentissima ma anche indisciplinata, dispettosa e… sorda. Sorda per scelta. Dato che LEI è da sempre una donna ingenua e un inguaribile sognatrice che crede a tutto ciò che le si dice; per la “lei-bambina” l’unico modo per riuscire a stanare e comprendere la verità è da sempre stato chiudere le orecchie. I sordi ascoltano con gli occhi e vedono ciò che si cela oltre le parole e adesso che “lei-bambina” è uscita verità più o meno scomode verranno a galla insieme a pezzi di cuore tagliuzzato, speranze naufragate, parole che era meglio non sentire e altre che sarebbe stato meglio dire, immagini uscite da scene di vita vissuta e sopravvissuta. Ma tutto questo riguarda il passato, per il futuro la buona notizia è che LEI già da un po’ sta diventando sorda. Con una così brava allenatrice di sordità al fianco le si prospetta una rivoluzionaria senilità. E’ proprio il caso di dirlo…finalmente vecchia!

For “HER,” the moment of the much-feared and long-awaited menopause has arrived. Determined to fight off any sadness, mood swings, or insomnia, and eager to navigate that endless sea of hot flashes with a touch of irony, she decides to do something she’s never done in her life: let the little girl inside her come out. And there she is, the “little girl version of her”; beautiful, cheerful, brilliant, but also undisciplined, mischievous, and… deaf. Deaf by choice. Since SHE has always been a naive woman and an incurable dreamer who believes everything she’s told; for the “little girl-SHE,” the only way to uncover and understand the truth has always been to shut her ears. The deaf listen with their eyes and see what lies beyond words, and now that “she-child” has come out, truths—some more uncomfortable than others—will surface along with pieces of a shredded heart, shipwrecked hopes, words that were better left unsaid, and others that would have been better spoken, images drawn from scenes of life lived and survived. But all this concerns the past; for the future, the good news is that SHE has been going deaf for a while now. With such a skilled coach of deafness by her side, a revolutionary old age lies ahead. It really is fitting to say… finally old!
